The blood flow to the tissue behind the eyebrows is not as great as elsewhere (at least for some people). The scalp has a very large amount of bllod vessels, so scalp hair is almost always lost.

I have a beautiful body wrap, and I use velcro rollers. I use Vidal Sasoon. They are great, and they work for any hair type. I am a woman of color, and I have thick fine hair. The rollers create beautiful loose waves if I use the big rollers, small tight curls if I use the small rollers, and a wavy layered look if I use them all together. You would want to put the bigger rollers in the back, the medium sized rollers in the middle, and the smaller rollers at the top. These rollers work for any hair type, because I have some caucasion and hispanic friends, and I have rolled their hair up as well, and it came out great. If you want the curlier look, leave them in for 15-30 minutes. If you want the loose wavy look, leave them in for 5-10 minutes. Oh, I forgot to add that these are the rollers that heat. You may want to have the hair salon cut you a few layers in your hair for more body, tell them to cut the layers long. You can find this at a local pharmacy or Walmart or Target, and the price is about $20-30.

It is normal for the average person to lose up to 100 strands of haitr a day. You're probably wondering, "Geez, where does it fall out at, and why don't I have bald spots if so much falls out?" I don't know; but if you feel you are losing more than that, you may want to look into using a more conditioning shampoo with herbal essences in it.

I have the same problem and I am 25. If your daughter is stressed out this will cause hair loss. This is my case. If you do not eat healthy can be another reason but more and likely it is stress. Tell her not to worry (unless if she notices her hair is thinnig to much then she needs to be seen by a doctor).

My daughter is 20 and loses a lot too. She gets highly stressed out. B vitamins helps stress, moods, water weight gain and hair loss. Has she had a good check up and blood work? Is her hair dry, tangly, splitting and do the front of her legs itch? All symptoms of thyroid which causes hair loss. But I would go to a naturopathic doctor before jumping into something herbal. On the other hand,B vits are not harmful and those can be given without any side effects. A sublingual (put under the tongue to disolve) acts quicker and better. Trader Joe's carries them but it isn't all the B's. B's work better if you take them together. If you read up on B vits, you will find that we probably should all be taking some.

I had a similar problem. I was loosing hair alot but no bald patches. I went to the doctor and they ran tests making sure everything was good and they finally diagnosed the cause was from stress. They recommended using Rogaine for women (the pink box).
At first I was I didnt want to use Rogaine because only old men use it but I did and I actually started growing little baby hairs!! I also cut done on activities that would cause too much stress. I would definitely bring her to the doctor to make sure her thyroid is okay and everything else!

I think you need to just accept your short hair cut and learn to style it in a way you will like it. And in the mean time you need to deep condition your hair OFTEN. If you don't want to go to a Salon and get this than get a good deep conditioner at Sally's and some processing caps and wash your hair then put lots of conditioner in your hair and massage it in then put the processing cap on and take a damp thin towel and microwave it for about 35-45 seconds and wrap it around your head. I would leave this on for at least an hour ...longer if you want...you will need to keep reheating the towel once it cools. Then rinse it out and then turn the cold water on and give it a quick rinse under the cold. I would do this several times a week and in the meantime allow your hair to rest and to get healthy again and grow.....I think hair extensions will only add to the damage. Short hair can be styled to look really cute...just try and find something you like or at least you can live with for a while until your hair gets better ....

Almost 2 yrs ago I was very sick %26amp; wound up the hospital for 11 days. Shortly after that I started to lose my hair which was very upsetting to the point that I was considering buying a wig. However, about 3 months later my hair started growing back. It came back different (kind of kinky %26amp; dry) and it is only now, almost 2 yrs later that it is getting back to the way it used to be.
Moral: When your body chemistry changes extremely and rapidly, your body reacts. Losing your hair is just one way. You are lucky if you didn't damage any organs or your thyroid. Next time, diet wisely by only losing 2-3 lbs a week %26amp; get a checkup.

It isn't the amount you eat, it is the right htings you eat, you need things like meats for your body strength to go up, 2000 callories is the recommended diet for a female, although calorie control diets rarely work and you should just watch the fat, sugar ans salt intake, I think you should eat more, at least for a few days untill your strength goes back up, and your digestion system speeds up to it's normal rate so you can get what you need for the foods you eat. You should see a doctor because you could have caused a over-low amount of something in your body, doctor is the only option really, if you don't you may loose a lot more hair and it might not come back.

Most people who have cravings throughout the day aren't actually even hungry, they are just de-hydrated, so when you drink you're full 8 glasses a day, you don't feel that craving for random snacking...also I just read today actually that when you drink water that is ice cold, you burn more calories than if you were to drink warm/room temp. water. ok, here is the list of symptoms i have going on with my scalp and hair.1)itchy scalp. if i don't wash it for a day, the itching will occur particularly in the back of my head and the top front).

I don't know what shampoo i should use or what it is.

Causes of Hair Changes During Pregnancy
Changes to hair on the scalp. Many women notice that the hair on their head is thicker during pregnancy. Many lose a lot of hair a few weeks or months after delivery. These changes are normal. Hair growth generally returns to its regular growing cycle within six months after delivery.
When you're not pregnant, the hairs on your head grow in a regular cycle. Each hair:
* Usually grows about one-half inch per month for anywhere from two to six years
* Then goes into a 閳ユ笧esting閳?phase for 2 or 3 months
* Then gradually falls out, usually when you閳ユ獧e brushing or washing your hair
The growth cycle then starts again. At any one time, about 10 percent of the hair on your scalp is in a resting phase, and about 90 percent is growing.
During pregnancy, hairs tend to stay in the resting phase longer. And much more of your hair is in the resting phase at any one time. Therefore, fewer hairs fall out each day. This causes your hair to seem thicker and fuller.
After delivery, this resting phase shortens. More hairs fall out, and you start to grow new hair. But the normal hair loss that was delayed by pregnancy tends to take place all at one time. This may cause your hair to seem thinner than usual.
Other hair growth. Some women also develop more hair on their chin, upper lip, cheeks, arms and legs during pregnancy. You also may notice new hairs (sometimes even just one or two) on your breasts, belly and back.

Hair Changes: What You Can Do
Hair growth on the face, arms and legs during pregnancy is normal. Your hair growth should return to its regular cycle within six months after delivery.
To get rid of unwanted hair growth, you can safely tweeze, wax or shave. Avoid using bleaches or depilatories that can be absorbed into the skin. Permanent hair-removal techniques (such as electrolysis) are thought to be safe during pregnancy. But they can be painful or uncomfortable.
You can do several things to have a healthier head of hair during pregnancy and after delivery:
* Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables. These may provide protection for the hair shafts and encourage hair growth.
* Be gentle with your hair when it is fragile and wet. Avoid fine-tooth combs.
* Avoid using blow dryers and other heated hair instruments. If you must use a hair dryer, use the cooler settings.

well im no expert but i dont think you lose hair while you are pregnant and the pregnant hormones are probably finally leaving you and that would explain the hair lose... pregnancy hormones probably explain the extra hair around your face too.

This is COMPLETELY NORMAL, and I even went to a dermatologist about it after my son was born last year. As your body tries to get back to normal after giving birth, it's very, very, very common to lose a lot of hair in certain places and gain some hair in others. This process can last from 6 months to a year! But, don't worry, it will get back to normal eventually. Just let it happen - don't use Rogaine or anything like that, according to my dermatologist.
When pregnant you loose a lot less hair than normal because of all the hormones in your body, then after you have the baby you loose all that extra hair you've been keeping during that nine months. I'm sure the hair loss will stop soon.

I know how you feel. I have really long hair and had a lot of hair falling out and had new hair growing. After 6 months of this, I finally went to see my doctor and this is what I found out...
During your pregnancy, you don't really loose all that much hair because of the hormones and the hair growth is slow. After you have the baby (and the longer you nurse the longer peiod of time this will happen) the hormones allow for the hair to fall of making way for new hair.
From personal experience, its more noticeable if you have long hair. I have really long hair so I noticed it more. Don't worry after you stop nursing it will all even out and you won't loose as much hair as before.

This is a completely normal condition called "Post partum alopecia." It is the result of your body adjusting to no longer having the HcG levels that pregnancy causes. Another cause could be if you had anything other than "completely natural" childbirth. If you had pain relief of any sort (epidural, local, general, etc) your body could take up to 18 months to readjust. This is "post-surgical alopecia." It's the reason most hairdressers won't perm or color pregnant women, those about to have surgery or anyone who fit either category within the previous year. It doesn't typically end well.

Radiiotherapy, can in some cases cause hair in the area being radiated to fall out. Areas of the body not being radiated will not be effected.
You will loose hair if there is hair within the radiation field...ie for brain cancers you will loose some (may be spotty loss corresponding to the size and shape of the fields being used), same for armpit hair in breast CA, etc. Radiation does NOT cause hairloss outside the treatment area however....that is unique to chemotherapy.
because most gels have alcohol in them which strips the hair down and when exposed to the sun after applying it... it acts as a bleach (hence the lightening effect). It also thins the hair because alcohol dries out the hair, causing it to be dry and brittle which makes it prone to breakage. As your hair breaks off it will inevitably become thinner. You should try to find a gel that is alcohol-free... or preferably a moisturizing mousse...which will be less harsh on your hair. Good luck!

Well you might be using way to much hair gel. Try putting a little on your wrist and then using your other hand and use that. Also try mixing it with a little water. Like wet your other hand with water before you put the gel in you hair.

It could be the weather (if you're in an area where its humid and hot), stress, also he could have skin allergies that cause him to shed bad and loose coat. at the vets office they should have different shampoos to help him w/ his coat problem.

One...depends on the age of your Pom. Poms go through a molting at a certain age.
Two...Have you changed groomers or shampoo? A poms skin is very sensitive.
Three...Have you moved, is someone new in the home, or have you gotten any other pets? Poms tend to be OK with this but sometimes it can cause stress.
And four...Have you been brushing her in between groomings? Sometimes lack of grooming will cause excessive shedding.

* The show starts with a video highlight package with clips from past Wrestlemanias, and its return to Detroit 20 years later.
* Aretha Franklin performed "America the Beautiful."
* They aired a Wrestlemania video package with the "All Grown Up" Theme.
* Pyro went off. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcomed us to the show. Lawler pointed out that more fans jammed into Ford Field for Wrestlemania 23 than those that attended last year's Super Bowl.
* JBL and Michael Cole are ringside, along with ECW announcers - Tazz and Joey Styles. Styles congratulated JR on being inducted into the WWE hall of fame. I echo that one!
(1.) Money in the Bank: Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. CM Punk, vs. King Booker (with Queen Sharmell) vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. Finlay.
Mr. Kennedy had his drop down mic come down from the entrance ramp as he introduced himself to the Ford Field crowd. They have three tall ladders set up on the entrance way. Finlay jumped off the top rope onto a handful wrestlers on the outside. Edge grabbed a ladder and tried to climb it, but was stopped by Matt Hardy. It was followed by Orton and Finlay until the ladder tilted over. Jeff Hardy was also unsuccessful in climbing the ladder early on. King Booker went for a ladder, but found the Hornswoggle's step ladder. Booker did the spinaroonie, which got a good pop. All six ringside announcers have their mics on, so all are commenting on the action. Jeff Hardy hit a senton bomb on Mr. Kennedy, and the Hardy's double team their opponents with a ladder. Jeff and Matt both climbed the ladder, but the ladder was pushed over by Finlay. Edge speared his opponents, but missed a spear attempt going for CM Punk. Edge recovered and speared Punk. Edge climbed the ladder, but Orton tipped it over. Jeff Hardy jumped off a ladder onto Edge, who was laying on a ladder on the outside of the ring. The ladder broke, which was set up on the guard rail up to the ring. As medics attended to Edge and Jeff Hardy, Orton hit a series of RKO. Orton and Punk climbed separate ladders. Orton hit an RKO off the ladder on Punk. Booker T hit a bookend off the ladder on Orton. Booker climbed the ladder, but Matt had Sharmell so he came to aid his wife. Matt climbed the ladder, but Finlay tipped the ladder over. Finlay is cut open on the top of his head. Finlay dropped Matt Hardy on a ladder. With Finlay down, Hornswoggle climbed a ladder. Kennedy climbed another ladder. Hornswoggle slapped Kennedy, which led to Kennedy bombing Hornswoggle to the mat. Finlay climbed the ladder, but Punk drop kicked the ladder. Punk climbed the ladder, but Kennedy recovered and climbed the other side of the ladder. Punk threw Kennedy off the ladder, but Kennedy answered with a ladder shot (with a second ladder) into Punk knocking him off. Kennedy climbed the ladder and grabbed the brief case to win the match at 19:10. Great opener. After the match, Finlay helped Hornswoggle back up.
- They showed highlights of Steve Austin's "The Condemned" as people came out for the opening. Movie comes out nationwide 4/27.
- Backstage, Todd Grisham interviewed Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy congratulated himself. He warned anyone with a title that he could be coming for them. He called himself "Mr. Money in the Bank."
- They aired another "All Grown Up" video.
(2) The Great Khali vs. Kane. Ross pointed out that Khali wears a size 20 shoe. Kane comes to the ring without his "See No Evil" hook. Khali fell back into the ropes, and had his arms tied up in the ropes. This allowed Kane to go outside and grab the chain and hook from under the ring. Khali destroyed a top turnbuckle. Low blow by Kane with the chain with the referee distracted. Kane slammed Khali! Kane went for a chokeslam, but Khali hit a two handed slam and pinned Kane at 5:31. After the match, Khali wrapped the chain around Kane's neck.
- They aired an all grown up video for the divas.
Backstage, Cryme Tyme chatted with Eugene. They do the extreme expose, but the music stops and Moolah and Mae Young come out and dance with Eugune. The return of Slick! Slick comes out and dances. Yes! Dusty Rhodes comes in still dressed in a tux and starts dancing with Jimmy Hart, Sgt. Slaughter and Mike Rotunda. In comes Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat with his handband and all. In walks Ron Simmons and says "Damn." They all continue to dance to the "roof is on fire."
- They show members of the Detroit Tigers sitting ringside. Yes, go Tigers!
(3) United States Title Match: Chris Benoit vs. MVP. Benoit went for the crossfire early, but MVP was able to counter. Benoit tried the sharpshooter, but MVP again countered. Even with some solid mat wrestling, fans are pretty flat. Benoit did three German suplexes on MVP. Benoit climbed to the top rope, but MVP ran over and head butted the U.S. champion. MVP superplexed Benoit, but Benoit countered on the mat and nearly pinned his challenger. MVP got a 2 1/2 count followed a clothesline. Benoit went for the crossface, but couldn't lock it in. Benoit hit two German suplexes, but MVP blocked the third attempt. Benoit followed it up with a three more German suplexes. Benoit hit a diving headbutt from the top rope to win the match at 9:19.
- They aired an Undertaker Wrestlemania video.
- Backstage, Donald Trump is with his former Miss USA Tera on his cell phone. As Trump talks on the phone, the lights dim and the Boogeyman comes up from behind Trump. Tara runs off, but Trump isn't scared and tells him to get him a sandwich.
- They plugged that WWE returns to PPV on 4/29 for Backlash.
- They aired a highlight package of last night's Hall of Fame ceremony.
- They announced the attendance as 80,103.
- Lilian Garcia introduced Howard Finkel, who brought out the WWE hall of fame class of 2007. Muraco wheeled out Mr. Fuji on a wheel chair. Mr. Perfect was represented by Larry "The Ax" Hennig and Curt's wife.
- In AT%26amp;T mobile voting, people are picking The Undertaker to beat Batista tonight, 82 to 18%.
- They aired a Batista-Undertaker highlight package.
- Teddy Long did the ring introductions.
(4) World Heavyweight Title Match: Batista vs. The Undertaker. Batista came out first. The druids and fire came out, followed by The Undertaker. The match started with the two brawling on the outside, and Batista rammed The Undertaker's knee into the ring steps. Batista came off the top rope via a tackle, but The Undertaker kicked out of the first pin fall attempt. The crowd is really popping for The Undertaker's offense. The Undertaker hit a boot to the face, followed by a leg drop, but the champion kicked out of a pin fall attempt. The Undertaker went old school with his top rope walk. Batista blocked a chokeslam attempt by The Undertaker. Fans started a "lets to Taker" chant. On the outside ring apron, Undertaker leg dropped Batista. The Undertaker jumped over the top rope crashing into Batista on the arena floor. Taker brawled with Batista on the outside, including the champion crashing the Undertaker into steps near Lilian Garcia's announce table. Batista placed Undertaker on the announcer's table, as fans booed. A running powerslam by Batista on a second announcer's table left the Undertaker flat on his back on the loor. Batista pushed Taker back into the ring, but Undertaker kicked out of Batista's pin fall attempt. Batista hit a belly to belly suplex, but Taker kicked out again. The Undertaker hit the last ride, but Batista kicked out. Spinbuster by Batista, but Undertaker got right back up. Chokeslam by Taker, but Batista kicked out. Batista signaled for the end, but a spear by Batista. Batista bomb, but Taker kicked out. Taker blocked a second Batista attempt. Taker regain control and hit the tombstone piledriver to win the World Heavyweight title at 15:47. 15-0! In the ring, Taker dropped to his knee and held up the world title belt. Pyro went off and Undertaker celebrated his title victory. Taker walked away, but raised his hand to the crowd, as fireworks went off.
- A Bobby Lashley All Grown Up video aired.
- Backstage, Stephanie wished her dad good luck. Vince snapped when Stephanie brought her baby daughter in. Vince tells his granddaughter that grandpa is going to beat up Donald Trump. Stephanie worried that he is upsetting the young McMahon child. Vince smells something, and said the baby just took a "trump."
In a match that was taped before Wrestlemania for the DVD release, Ric Flair and Carlito defeated Gregory Helms and Chavo Guerrero in a tag team battle royal.
The ECW originals came through the crowd on their way to the ring. The Sandman was drinking beer and usual, swinging his cane.
(5) New Breed - Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker, Kevin Thorn (with Ariel), and Elijah Burke vs. The ECW Originals - RVD, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, and Sabu. The Sandman dropped a leg on Striker, and attempted the first pin fall. Crowd is dead again. Burke hit the elijah express on Dreamer. The New Breed did quick tags to keep Dreamer in the ring. Dreamer made the hot tag to RVD, but no one seems to care about this match. RVD monkey flipped Striker, followed by rolling thunder. Dreamer hit the DDT on Striker, but Burke hit Dreamer from behind. RVD hit the five star frog splash on Striker and pinned him for the victory at 6:26. Styles says OMG! Got to give it to Amy Spears (our ECW TV reporter), she predicted it.
- They aired a Steve Austin all grown up video.
- They plugged that Wrestlemania 24 will be held in Orlando, FL.
- They introducted boxing legend Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns at ringside.
- They aired the celebs commenting on whom they would like to see bald headed tonight, Vince McMahon or Donald Trump, followed a video hyping up the battle of the billionaires.
- They brought out a barber shop on wheels coming down the entrance ramp.
(6) Battle of the Billionaires: IC champion Umaga (with Vince McMahon and Estrada) vs. ECW champion Bobby Lashley (with Donald Trump and Tara Conner). "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is the special guest referee. Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and Miss Universe gave Vince the thumbs down from the ringside area as he came out first. As Trump came out, they dropped money from the ceiling again. JR said that Donald Trump was the most searched name on the internet this weekend. Austin came out with a referee shirt without any sleeves. Great reaction for Austin. Lashley pulled Estrada into the ring, gave him a running powerslam, and tossed him out of the ring. I guess this was their way to get Estrada out of the way. Umaga jumped over the top rope, but missed his target. Umaga splashed the ECW champion for the first pin fall attempt. Umaga wouldn't break a choke hold, and Austin got into Umaga's face. Austin eventually had to pull Umaga off Lashley by yanking on Umaga's hair. Mr. McMahon encourged Umaga, and the IC champion hit a Samoan drop. Vince got up on the apron, but Lashley backed into him knocking him to the floor. Both men were on the mat, and Austin counted to nine, but with both guys still down, Austin wouldn't declare the match over. Shane McMahon came out to help up his father. Shane came up on the apron, distracted Austin and Umaga gave Stone Cold the Samoan spike. Shane and Umaga double teamed Lashley. Vince tossed a trash can to his son, and Shane-O-Mac went coast to coast into the trash can set up on Lashley in one corner. Shane pulled off his shirt, to reveal a referee shirt. Umaga came off the rop rope onto Lashley, and as Shane counted, Austin pulled Shane out of the ring. Another Samoan spike by Umaga on Austin. Donald attacked Mr. McMahon! Austin blocked a third Samoan Spike, and stunned Umaga. Lashley hits his finisher for the victory. Austin pulled Vince into the ring. Shane attacks Austin from behind, but a Lou Thesz by Austin. Austin stunners Shane. Vince tried to sneak away, but Lashley ran after him on the entrance ramp and brought him back. Austin stunners Vince, and places him into the barber's chair which they brought into the ring. Trump brought out clippers. Lashley and Trump start cutting Vince's hair off. Lots of gray under there. Well, it was really Vince's hair. After they shave him, Trump and Lashley use hand razors and make sure to remove any left over hair. Austin starts to drink a beer. Vince falls out of the chair when he sees himself in a mirror. Afterwards, Austin drinks beer with Lashley and Trump and Vince walks away. Austin stunners Trump and walks away! Austin walks away drinking beer as Lashley helps up Trump. They show Vince's shaved off hair in the ring.

- They showed a Backlash PPV promo.
- Cole and JBL showed highlights on the tag team battle royal match that took place before the broadcast which was won by Ric Flair and Carlito.
(7) Lumberjill match for the Women's title: Melina vs. Ashley. I think they have brought out every diva on the roster for this one to surround the ring including the expose girls. Melina wins a terrible match at 3:14. After the match, the lumberjills got into a quick pull apart. Its too bad they didn't air the tag team battle royal instead of this one.
- They aired a HBK all grown up video.
- AT%26amp;T Mobile voting: Cena over HBK, 59% to 41%.
- They aired a video highlight package of the Cena-HBK feud.
(8) WWE Title Match: John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels. Cena comes in driving a Mustang through the street of Detroit, and break through the Wrestlemania glass inside Ford Field. JR points out that the WWE title has been defended 22 times at Wrestlemania, and the challenger has won 15 times. Bell rings at 10:08 ET, so they must have a sold half an hour for this one. Before the match, a fan runs into the ring, but it wasn't acknowledged. No hand shake, in fact, HBK gave Cena the crotch chop to start the match. Cena hits HBK with a clothesline, and the fans booed the champ. HBK countered Cena with a Lou Thesz press. Mike Chiota is the referee. HBK hip tosses Cena from the ring onto the floor and gives Cena a Ric Flair chest chop. Springboard moonsault by HBK on the outside, landed the champion onto JR and Lawler's announcer's table. HBK rammed Cena's knee into the ring post, as HBK continued to work on the champ's left leg. The referee asked Cena if he wants to continue, as HBK to work over the left leg. Fans come across as lukewarm to the match, as after all, they have been sitting for along time. HBK chops Cena, which got the usual "Whooaa" chant. Cena and HBK brawled in the corner. Cena continues to sell the left leg. HBK's head struck the ring post, which cut him open. Fans continue to boo Cena's offense. You can't see me, followed by the five knuckle shuffle by the WWE champion. HBK blocked the FU attempt. HBK superkicked the referee as Cena ducked. Michaels countered another FU attempt with a DDT. On the outside, HBK gives Cena a piledriver on the ring steps. This cuts open the back of the head of the WWE champion. Jack Doane, a second referee runs out, but Cena kicks out at 2 as HBK went for the victory. HBK drops an elbow from the top rope. HBK tunes up the super kick, but Cena counters with a clothesline. Fans continue to cheer HBK, and boo Cena. Cena hits the FU, but couldn't make the cover fast enough. HBK blocked a FU attempt from the ropes. The two counter each other moves, as both go for the win. STFU by Cena. Micheals makes it to the ropes. Sweet chin music by HBK, but Michaels isn't able to make the cover quick enough. Both men laid on the mat as the referee started to give the 10 count. They got up at nine. More counters, STFU again by Cena in the middle of the ring. HBK taps out at 28:21, Cena wins and retains the title. Cena raised the spinning belt, as more pyro goes off. JR said this one was for his father, John Cena Sr. HBK walks away, and Cena runs over to him on the entrance way, but Michaels continues to walk way. Cena gives him the salute, and returns to the ring to celebrate.

Hmm it depends on where loses it. If he has a receeding hairline that doesn't receed to the middle of his scalp and the rest is intact - he can keep it.
However, If he's bald at the crown, shave it off...leaving it may result in the dreaded urge to create a "combover."

well without knowing your gender or age the first thing that comes to mind is that if you are a female over 20. you should see your doctor and have your thyroid checked. if it is out of balance it "May" cause the hair to thin.. especially in the front and top of your head.. if you are a male i would check your family history for balding.. especially but not limited to your mothers side of the family. if there are males with balding issues it is possable that you too will endure these issues...

In cases where there is severe hair loss, there has been limited success treating alopecia areata with clobetasol or fluocinonide, steroid injections or cream. Steroid injections are commonly used in sites where there are small areas of hair loss on the head or especially where eyebrow hair has been lost. Some other medications used are minoxidil, irritants (anthralin or topical coal tar), and topical immunotherapy cyclosporine, each of which are sometimes used in different combinations.

It could be a number of things, my dog did something similar to this and I took her to the vet and was told she had allergies (to fleas, grass, dust). So I had to take her once every 3 months to get an allergy shot. You should take you cat to the vet to find out what the problem is.
I friend's dog had a fungus that did that. The hair grew back on everything but most of his tail.
Then he got an ear infection that made one of his ears flop over. He won Most Mysterious Heritage award on the dog event on the mall in DC and 2 place for People's Choice.

Vet check. Could be an allergy - food or environmental. I would have the vet do a skin scraping to see if there are any mites to determine if it is Manage. 2 types of manage - sarcoptic [contagious] or demadex. [not contagious] Demadex is a result of a weakend immune system. Mange is easily treated but takes awhile. We successfully treated 1 dog who had sarcoptic and then it went to demadex. It took him about 9 months to clear from beginning to end of treatment. He was treated with Ivermectin. We are treating another boy right now for demadex. No hair on him at all and covered in bloody wounds. We started him with the Ivermectin and it almost killed him. He was too sick [due to someone starving him almost to death] so we had to wait a couple weeks. We began treating him with Interceptor [a heartworm med] and he has responded great. We also had him on Baytril for infections in his skin. I don't know if your boy has mange, but I thought I'd pass on my mange info just in case. I see a lot of dogs in the shelter with missing hair, skin infections, etc., and they usually put them down because treatment/recovery process is slow. And there are alot Vets that misdiagnos it. Always breaks my heart because I know with the right diagnosis/treatment, they recover just fine. If it is not mange, not an allergy, maybe a different food and/or skin caps on the food to give extra hair and skin nutrition. The last thing might be boredom. Stress and lack of outdoor activity such as excersise leads them to become kinda neurtotic and they can chew themselves to bits. Best of luck to you and your boy.

well that happend to my dog too and the animal docter told me when ever i take her a bath to put on garlic oil on her skin and a month later her itch stop and her skin is back to normal but u should really see of of those animal docters to see what they say

he could be allergic to the frontline. have you taken him to the vet for allergy shots? get iodine and put it on his skin for relief and get a t-shirt so he has it on and can not irritate his skin more by biting and itching it.
he is probly itchy from dry skin... pour a can of tuna over his food and it should clear it up over a few days it like mositurizes his skin etc..
My dog had the exact same problem. I probably take him to the vet for professional help if I were you. We took our dog there and she's a lot better.

What food does he eat? He could be allergic to one/some of the ingredients. Foods like Iams, Purina, Pedigree, Eukanuba, Science Diet, etc are total crap and shouldn't be fed. (Decent foods include Innova, Innova EVO, California Natural, Nature's Variety, Canidae, Wellness, Orijen, Solid Gold)
Have you gone to the vet? He can help diagnose your problem and get you on some medicine.
Ok, this works for humans with poison ivy, so I'm wondering if it will work for dogs with a dermatological problem. Peel a banana, and then rub the inside of the peelings over the affected area. Do this every 6-8 hours or so for 3 days, and see if the scratching slows down. Best I can suggest. You can verify this remedy for poison ivy by doing a google search. I realize this is not from ivy! Just give it a try!
My puppy was losing hair on his stomach and I took him to the vet and they had me wash his stomach with iodine and let it sit for 10 minutes for a week once a day! It worked! His hair all grew back!
take him to a vet- dogs can get some serious infections of the skin , some caused by bugs like lice and scabies are something to worry about and should be ruled out by a experienced vet. other problems may be just involving the skin . diet can sometimes help- some issues can only be cured by medications prescribed by a vet- and are easy to solve. if your vet hasnt come up with a solution you should consult a different vet.
my dog does that occasionally and we usually clean it out really good with hydrogen peroxide everyday and some times try and put some gauze on it! or maybe try getting a cone so they can heal! =D
He could be having a food allergy. You may want to change your dogs diet to a fish and sweet potato formula. "Wellness" makes it. And give your dog Fish oil pills. The Fish oil will get rid of the dandriff. The Omega 3 and 6 will put moister back into your dog skin. You also may want to try switching the flea treatment to "Revolution" That helps with all internal parasites including heart worm as well as killing flea and tick.
there's a product called atopica - it's a cyclosporine which blocks the allergic responses in dogs.. it usually causes the pet to become nearly to completely itch free - but used only in sever cases of dermatitis. the most common side effect is GI upset because castor oil is used in the capsule but giving the product on an empty stomach helps, or adding pepcid twice a day.
the cost of the product is quite high until they get all the patents finished on the product - but the people i know that have used it, swear by it and say that it's worth it. try discussing it with your vet to see if it's the right medication for your pet.
I have the same issue's with our golden. We have had her at the vet a few times for this. We had to try giving Diphey hydramine first. We gave her four pills a day. This didn't seem to help her at all. So now we have steroids that we give her when she starts to itch. Also if he has been itching its possible that he has got a infection from itching so hard. I was finding scabs on my girl. She got so bad at one point that she would just do this shaking thing every time she would get up.Her legs would kick and body would just shiver as if some thing were crawling on her. This time a year is the worst for her. There is just some thing in the air that does not mix with her. So if I was you I would make a vet appointment and start working on some ideas to help your boy out. I hope he gets better... Also we have to give our dog a bath every week with a medicated shampoo.
We also have to put a cone on her when we go places. Other words it hair all over the place when we come home. I do not like to give her the Prednisom (steroid) every time I have to go out to the store..
Sounds to me like this dog has a skin disease. It could be ringworm and it could possibly be a type of mange. Either way the dog is going to suffer if the condition isn't cured.
I know of a home remedy that could possibly cure the animal of the condition. If you're willing to try it, I am sure that it will work. If not then I recommend a trip to the Vet.
I have seen this procedure work many times with many dogs. It is messy and the dog would have to be kept outside until the treatment wears off.
The treatment is as follows. Change the oil in your motor vehicle. The older the oil the better. That will give you a minimum of approximately four quarts of oil. Find a store that sells sulphur. Mix one 3 ounce box of Swan Sulphur in the oil. Put on some plastic gloves. Mix the sulphur in real good. Bring you dog outside. Take the mixture with your hands and rub into the dog's fur until it soaks the skin. Do this especially in the affected areas.
Leave this mixture on until it wears off (about two weeks). Once the treatment has worn itself out of the fur, bathe the animal. In about six weeks your dog will have a beautiful radiant coat of fur.
Try using Vitamin E lotion. It worked on my dog.
Has he had bloodwork done recently to check thyroid levels? Skin problems can be a sign of thyroid deficiency. That's how I found out my dog has it. If he does, the pills for it are really cheap.

What is the reason for the lose of hair? Many times it is some underlying illness that causes this and you need to see a doctor to find out. You may have a hypothyroidism and just need to take meds for your thyroid. I would recommend you see a doctor without spending alot of money on useless creams, etc.
