I need help on straightening my hair?

i used to have Alopecia areta, when your hair folicules atack themselvesand you lose your hair, and now it has grown out and it's frizzy. I want it to be staight but i dont want to damage it any more than it is. Any suggestions on which flat-iron or spray works? I really want something that will get it straight.

My hair dresser uses Redken Smooth Down on me. I have super natural curly hair and she is able to put that on my hair when it is towel dried and then blow it out with a round brush and hair dryer.

It is about $13 a bottle... below is the link.

Your hair sounds really weak as it is. If you flatiron it, I would do it VERY SPARINGLY. Also, you may want to deep condition. There's a really great hair mask by Neutrogena called "Triple Moisture Hair Masque". It comes in an orange tub.

If you get a flatiron, make sure it's ceramic. Ceramic damages less than others.

get the revo styler. i use that thing every day. it takes practice b/c its a spinning brush but once you get it after a few minutes it helps brush out the frizzies and makes it easier to use a straight iron or just use the revo and it makes it a pretty wave. use a leave in conditioner/frizz reducer. I use fructis leave in conditioner/smooth %26amp; sleek. you dont have to use too much product just as long as it has a leave in conditioner in it. and the best flat iron out right now is the Chi. you can get a generic one which is exactly the same as the real one for like half the price from Sally's.

At some hair salons and internet hair care entrepreneurs, they have some great products. Do not just pick up something from the super market, as will not do the job very nicely. Whatever you do get a salon certified product such as Osis. Also look online for "Chi: Global Beauty" for straightening irons. If you lightly use them, they can straighten hair giving it a pretty, sleek , natural look; not a stick straight look that reveals dead ends.

hmmm well i straighten my hair too! i use a CHI iron and so far it is GREAT! its the best, i think alot of people like it too. about the spray you should use, go looking for sprays that might say "root to tip hair silkener", "frizz control" or "for ironing" just things like that and also for conditioning shampoos use the ones for frizzy hair or uncontrolable hair.

ok my hair is so insanely thick that when i went over to my friend's house to get my highlights done, she said she didn't have enough color for my 600 pounds of hair. here's what i do and my hair gets REALLY straight:

1. after i wash my hair i blow dry it in sections starting at the bottom and working my way up

2. i have a conair 1" straightener and it gets extremely hot so i turn it on all the way up because that is the recommended setting for thick hair

3. put a pony-tail on top of my head, and use other scuncii (spelling) clips like stylists use to hold up other parts of my hair

4. use tresemme (spelling?) heat protect spray (it makes your hair incredibly smooth, shiny, and it feels so much thinner)

5. straighten it in 1 or 2 inch sections clipping them up as i go to get it away from the other parts i am straightening

6. slowly work my way around and up to the top of my head and then when i am finally done use a comb to get it to all go together

*my straightener gets REALLY hot so i always use a comb right after i straighten it, like following my straightener*

hope i helped you out!!
