It's due to all the hormonal changes during and after pregnancy. Fortunately, it doesn't happen to everyone, and if it does it is usually only temporary. A friend of mine lost a lot of hair after her pregnancy and looked like she had a receding hairline, but it soon grew back and now it looks normal again.
