My friends 13 year old daughter started losing her hair in clumps, her doctor said it was stress.



I also know that someone who is not eating enough will lose their hair....

Those are all good answers. I'm losing some due to hypothyroid problems. It's genetic- my daughter has it, too. Have UR thyroid checked if UR also experiencing sluggishness, period problems and/ or weight problems.

The cause is related to DHT, a functional metabolite of testosterone. Usually, male pattern baldness is hereditary. Other causes of hair loss are more serious -- fungal infection of the scalp, radiation, chemotherapy, aging. As you can see, there are many causes, but no cure as of yet.
