I took him to the vet and he had his blood work done and it came back normal.

Food allergies are a possibility. Many dogs are allergic to corn, beef, and wheat. You could try changing to Nature's Recipe which does not use any of those ingredients. It is worth a try. Just don't expect immediate results. It can take several weeks before you will see a difference.

Also pay close attention to the treats you give your dog. Most of them contain one or more of those three ingredients.

your vet should have offered somemore help/explanation, could be bad diet ,cheap dog food or stress, or skin problem

My cat slept under a car once and she got some oil or something on her and she lost a lot of fur. I don't know what it was but she was in fine shape. Just ugly for a while. Maybe your dog got into something that made it's fur fall out. Dog's are experts at getting into stuff.

Bad brands of dog food can often cause a dog to loose its hair. It could be the weather (if you're in an area where its humid and hot), stress, also he could have skin allergies that cause him to shed bad and loose coat. at the vets office they should have different shampoos to help him w/ his coat problem.

sounds like an allergic reaction to something being near him or something he's eating.

One...depends on the age of your Pom. Poms go through a molting at a certain age.

Two...Have you changed groomers or shampoo? A poms skin is very sensitive.

Three...Have you moved, is someone new in the home, or have you gotten any other pets? Poms tend to be OK with this but sometimes it can cause stress.

And four...Have you been brushing her in between groomings? Sometimes lack of grooming will cause excessive shedding.

Hope this helps...if not..please go back to the vet or maybe get a second opinion.
