I dye and bleach my hair occasionally, and I straighten it every day, so my hair is already pretty thin, but every time I run my fingers through my hair (especially the front, which is the longest part of my hair) I pull out one or two strands of hair. On top of this, my dad's side of the family has hair loss in most of the males (no one on my mother's side of the family lost any hair.)
My hair isn't much like my dad's (thin, straight, naturally high forehead before hair loss started) but it's very similar to my maternal grandfather's (straight hairline, black, wavy) so I don't think it's male pattern baldness.
I'm going to try to straighten my hair less, and bleach/dye it less often, but what foods can I eat to make my hair thicker and stronger?

bleaching is very damaging to your hair. Avocado is very good for your hair, along w/the foods swim chick mentioned. Before you wash or bleach/dye your hair, put a hair oil on and a plastic cap. Keep it on over night or sit under a dryer for 15-30 min. That will help moisturize your scalp.

I heard that your hair is the last place your vitamins go. So if you are eating enough healthy food, then it should be fine.
Eat plenty of veggiest, fruits, whole grains, dairy, and protein. Be sure to watch the amount of oily, sugary, and starchy foods. (ie fast food)
good luck

Chemicals, Drugs, Rogaine庐, Transplants ?
All those unnatural ways to grow hair with harsh chemicals and by plugging in hair transplants are earning huge corporations billions of dollars and doctors hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.
Why would they be foolish enough to promote something that would cost you less than $15 in grocery store stuff that can help to stop hair loss and regrow lost hair ? On top of that, they can鈥檛 make any money off of you from return visits or forcing you to buy their stuff every month for the rest of your life !
Rogaine庐 will set you back $40 a month, about $500 a year 鈥?for life. A hair transplant will cost around $10,000 or so. And the worst thing about them is that if they don鈥檛 work you don鈥檛 get your money back.
