My son wore baseball caps or just a plain fleece skull cap for warmth. After awhile he didn't really care that much and just went bald because it was easier. I thought he looked handsome.

Anyway you can check out wigs, turbans, scarves, floppy hats, bandana, skull caps, ski caps, and head wraps.

I shaved and went bald, believe me everyone knows why you are there. I had two gorgeous wigs too. I wore caps for a short time, I don' like them either. And I got so hot because the chemo thru me headlong into menopause!!! I did however, get cold in my early stages and wore hooded shirts and jackets. I got to ride home in a limo because the guy who was driving me to radiation owned the company, I looked like a corpse!!!!

Of course, you can try head scarves, I believe they're back in fashion so should be a variety. You can also try wigs too, sometimes that works for people.

A friend's mother, while she underwent chemo, shaved it all off and wore really amazing earrings and jewellery, I thought she looked so beautiful, it was like she was saying she was proud to be a survivor :)

Hair is hair and it will grow back. I sometimes have phases where I want to be bald and then there are times when I let my hair grow out. I'd consider wearing the bucket caps or bandanas. You'll always see Hulk Hogan wearing one.

your a brave person, why not just shave it and keep it that way! really unless your really uncomfortable like that?? I see alot of people anymore ( alot of older ladies) with really short ( like 1/2 ") spiky hair all over almost like a mans military cut it's considered "HIP"

I think blad will make people aware that your a fighter and your not giving in to this...best of luck with your treatment, take care of yourself. Be comfortable

I decided to go with caps whilst at work, but a bandana when i was at home. I tried wigs but really didn't like them, I did notice that you can get hats that have some hair at the front that makes it looks there are bangs there. If I were you I would go to a store that specializes in the specific needs.

You have a bit of breathing space - it doesn't fall out until about 10 days after your first chemo treatment.....

I used a head wrap, in tie died cotton knit fabric, that was super comfortable!

I also made a decision to go bald, had the last remaining whisps shaved, and then applied temporary tattoos (stickers) every few days. Mainly in butterflies, rainbows and flowers!

It showed people what I was dealing with but that I had a positive attitude and made others smile which gave me positive feedback.

I expected silk scarves to be great, but foung they snagged the stubble and annoyed me.

Make sure you wear some sort of head covering outdoors, as chemo makes you more suseptible to sunburn!

If your not wanting to go out in public as you are then they have lots of alternatives. My mom used to wear a wig. It was made from real hair and it was her natural color! If you do not want to wear a wig then they have wraps, variety of them. And it's all up to you. Hats, wraps, bandannas, wigs. Whatever you prefer.
