There might be different reasons for hair loss but I know some are if you use conditioner a lot your hair might fall out and also when you wash your hair you scratch extremely hard it might cause your hair to fall out. Also, last but not least, if you're stressed this causes your health to decline and your hair to recede. Try to treat it better and gentle-r. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

I've had patches of hair missing off and on for years. The dr. said it was from nerves. (I was in the military when it started.) They gave me a salve to apply. It seemed to work.

Baldness is inherited in a gene from the female parent. So you need to look at your uncles on your mom's side of the family.

Your hair loss could also be attributed to stress and thyroid conditions. See a doctor for a THS level test. This is done by drawing blood.

Alopecia (I'm not sure I spelled it correctly, and spell check suggestions didn't look correct either,) is a condition that can be developed by anyone. It characteristically begins with circular patches of hair loss. They say it is permanent, and leads to eventual loss of all hair, including lashes and brows, but I don't believe so. I used to get similar patches at the back of my head as a small child. Mom called them "slick spots." It could have been dietary; it could have been stress, but when I matured they grew in and I haven't had them since.

A final thought could be that your barber hit a whorl (natural circular pattern of hair growth.) In African-American males I've seen this a lot. One nick of the clippers in the wrong directions and that whorl just falls out. Go figure.

This is called alopetia ariata, I am not sure of the spelling.... but this is caused by nerves or sometimes for no reason at all. A dermotologist may inject the area directly with steroids to promote hair growth...a series of little pricks to the scalp, not painful. There is no guarentee ( but did work for me). This is a very common ailment. There is also something called alopetia universalis, which is where the person can lose all of their hair and then their eye lashes, and eye brows as well, They say that this is very bad as the person can develop eye problems from the lack of protection.
